Doing business in DLF Cyber City and DLF Phases
The Cyber City and DLF belt is home to IT and consulting firms, startups in co-working spaces, and Indian subsidiaries of foreign companies. Their GST questions are different from those of traders: whether a service counts as an export, how to pay GST on software and services bought from abroad, and how to register when the office is a co-working seat.

GST issues we handle most often in DLF Cyber City and DLF Phases
Export of services and LUT
Services to clients abroad are zero-rated only when every condition for export of services is met. We check the contracts and payment route, file the LUT each year, and keep the documents that support zero-rating.
Reverse charge on imported services
GST on services received from outside India, such as software subscriptions, cloud services or fees to a parent company, is often payable by the Indian business under reverse charge. We identify these and include them in GSTR-3B.
Registering from a co-working space
A co-working or shared office can be used as the principal place of business if you hold a valid agreement and the provider's consent and address proof, and you actually work from there. Officers do verify these addresses.
Inter-company charges
Cost recharges and secondment arrangements between group companies can attract GST. We review them with the transfer-pricing and income-tax position in mind.

Questions from DLF Cyber City and DLF Phases businesses
Can I register for GST with a co-working office in Cyber City?
Yes, with a signed agreement naming your business and seat, a consent or NOC from the provider, and the provider's electricity bill or ownership proof. The business must genuinely operate from that address.
Do I pay GST on software I buy from a foreign company?
Usually yes. Where a registered business in India receives services from a supplier outside India, IGST is generally payable by the recipient under reverse charge, and the credit can be claimed after payment if the service is used for business.
Is a foreign subsidiary's service to its parent an export?
It can be, if all the conditions for export of services are met, including payment in convertible foreign exchange (or INR where RBI permits) and the two not being merely establishments of the same person. Each arrangement needs to be checked.
When must a service company register for GST?
When aggregate turnover in a financial year exceeds Rs 20 lakh. Some businesses must register regardless of turnover, for example those required to pay tax under reverse charge.
Do you work with startups from day one?
Yes. We help with company or LLP incorporation, GST registration, the first LUT, TDS set-up and monthly compliance, so the books and returns are right from the start.
